The Detroit Project | Clarkston / Waterford Church Plant | Micah Jelinek

Our goal is not to grow large churches but to cultivate gospel-focused churches where people are known, loved, and shepherded well. And then, as the church grows, to plant parish churches the next town over so that more people can get in on both knowing Christ and enjoying authentic community.

In short, we desire to plant a church that is committed to Three Loves:

  • Loving God through Faithful Worship | Upward love for God by participating in worship where God’s people leave renewed and encouraged with the certainty that they are recipients of God’s free grace and irrevocably citizens of his everlasting kingdom.
  • Loving One Another through Authentic Community | Inward love for brothers and sisters in Christ as part of a church culture where the gospel (re)shapes our relationships with one another so that we experience the security of friendships and community where grace, reconciliation, and peace are the norm.
  • Loving our City through Intentional Mission | Outward love for the lost by being a place where skeptics and the “dechurched” can explore and rediscover the Christian faith, a people by whom our neighbors experience being sacrificially loved, and a church evergreen with the desire to help others get in on knowing Christ and this kind of community by planting churches the next town over.
