Michael ministers in our nation’s capital, leading and supporting the ministry initiatives of the D.C. staff. He provides pastoral care for members and senior level staff, leads Bible studies in Cabinet agencies and on Capitol Hill, and creates content for use in the D.C. ministry context.
Michael was born and raised in Iowa, attended the University of Iowa, and Covenant Seminary in St. Louis. Before seminary, he spent 15 years in industrial sales. He has pastored in Saint Louis and planted churches in Iowa City (One Ancient Hope) and the Chicago suburbs (Redemption PCA). Michael has also served as the Chicago City Director for Made To Flourish helping pastors integrate work and vocation into their church’s disciple-making process. His wife works for the District of Columbia and also serves MNA as a church planting assessor. Michael and Tess have been married since 1990 and have four amazing children and a son-in-law.
