Kankakee County, Illinois is near and dear to my heart. I grew up here, became a Christian here, and began to sense the call to ministry here. Most importantly, Kankakee is near and dear to God’s heart. His word says,
“And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us.” – Acts 17:226-27 (ESV)
Kankakee County (about an hour south of Chicago) is often overlooked and under appreciated, but it is the home of nearly 106,000 people who were made to worship and glorify God through Jesus Christ. We want to be part of God’s Kingdom movement to reach these people and establish a biblical faithful and vital local church (and Lord willing multiple churches). We recognize that God has been at work in this community for a long time, but we know that new generations of Christians and churches must carry on the work of the Great Commission. Some churches die, while others have drifted and lost the mission. As a confessionally Reformed and gospel-focused PCA church, we want to participate in God’s Kingdom work here. Kankakee County is still without a PCA church and we are eager to get the first one started!
Thank you for supporting this ministry through MNA as we seek to cultivate the Kingdom through the PCA in North America. Your generosity and faithfulness make this work possible. Please join us in prayer for this ministry. Thank you for your support. – Rev. Nick Stalnos
