New City Fellowship (Orangeburg, SC)
About us
New City Fellowship is a cross-cultural mission church of the Presbyterian Church in America located in Orangeburg , SC. Our mission is to make disciples who enjoy, follow, and serve Jesus in all of life. JP and Laurie Sibley and kids (Isaiah, Robbie, and Brynn) moved to Orangeburg in 2015 to begin cultivating a new church plant from scratch. They began public worship in 2017, and are currently meeting in an old college gymnasium at 635 Stonewall Jackson Street.
Ministry Focus
We are focused on raising up minority leadership through community outreach and college ministry at our local historically black universities, SC State and Claflin. In the summer of 2020, New City hired Joel Brown to assist in these specific areas of ministry. He is joined by his wife Latifahia and their kids (Alex, Olivia, and Liam). Joel is also raising support through MNA.
Financial Need
Orangeburg is in an economically depressed region of South Carolina known as the “corridor of shame.” We are committed to being a church that includes the poor in the life and ministry of our church. Mercy ministry is one of our core values. As you can imagine, the focus on college students and those in poverty creates a situation of enduring financial need. Unlike the typical PCA church plant, New City is more like a foreign missionary or campus ministry; we expect to need ongoing financial support, even after we particularize.
Donate by Check
Gifts can be sent via check or money order made payable to MNA. Ministry or church plant names should be clearly designated with a note accompanying the check or money order.
