Hurricane Idalia made landfall in FL Wednesday morning, August 30, as a powerful Category 3 hurricane over Keaton Beach, and then traveled north to make an almost direct hit on Madison FL and our Grace PCA family. The storm caused significant damage to communities served by the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) in FL, and a lesser degree of damage in GA, SC, and NC.
A number of PCA families in FL, members of Grace PCA in Madison and Community PCA in Live Oak have suffered various levels of damage, some significant. The roof of Community PCA Live Oak has been damaged extensively and must be replaced. Thankfully the underlying roof structure is intact. The sanctuary of Grace PCA Madison is also damaged and needs repairs as well.
