Fred Sloan – Prison Discipleship Ministry
Prison Discipleship Ministry (PDM) seeks to organize, develop and administer a discipleship and teaching mission ministry to people incarcerated in jails and prisons in central Virginia. It is directed by Fred Sloan, an evangelist for the James River Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America. The ministry operates under the governance of a commission of the presbytery and is directly responsible to the presbytery.
Fred and PDM volunteers work to:
Evangelize and disciple those of God’s elect who are incarcerated.
Coordinate and facilitate re-entry into society and the visible church those inmates who are released.
Mobilize and train members of local PCA churches to assist the ministry with a view toward bringing inmates into local PCA churches upon release.
Promote the correspondence ministry of Metanoia, the MNA prison ministry.
“. . . I was in prison, and you came to me.” Matt. 25:36
