Dominique McKay, Ministry to State

Ministry to State is Mission to North America’s ministry to those who serve in government. The members who work on staff are sent by the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) to serve politicians and public servants from all backgrounds, regardless of political affiliation, both in the U.S. and abroad. Ministry to State’s primary mission is to bring the gospel to government communities around the world and to make disciples of Christ.

Dominique McKay joined Ministry to State in the summer of 2022 after working for nearly 10 years on Capitol Hill. She previously worked for members in both the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives, primarily in communications. She now serves that community through ministry work in Washington, D.C. Through evangelism and discipleship, she hopes to help Christian public servants network together, create a web of support for spiritual development and mentoring, and help them grow in their faith to best discern God’s calling for their lives.

Ministry to State fully depends on donations from Christian communities to fulfill its mission in serving government workers. All financial support provided through this page will go to help Dominique in her ministry work with Capitol Hill staffers, including providing resources and staffing for Bible studies, prayer gatherings, social events, dinner forums, and one-on-one discipleship meetings, as well as communications materials and support.

Background:

Dominique is originally from Virginia and grew up in a Christian home. With parents serving in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army, most of her childhood was spent relocating to different states and countries. Dominique was baptized at Cedar Lake Church (formerly Cedar Lake Christian Assembly) in Biloxi, Miss. and later attended church services through Ministry to the Military’s Christian Servicemen Center in Gaeta, Italy. Her family eventually retired from military service in Chesapeake, Va. where she attended services at New Life Church (formerly New Life Providence) and later, Wave Church.

Dominique went to college and graduate school at Liberty University, where she received B.S. and M.A. degrees in communications. She is currently a member of McLean Presbyterian Church (MPC) in northern Virginia. Her past ministry experience includes children’s ministry at Thomas Road Baptist Church, Boonsboro Presbyterian Church (formerly Redeemer), and MPC. She also served for five years on MPC’s elected women’s leadership board, including two years as chair, and on MPC’s racial reconciliation committee.
