Curt Stapleton – Church Planting in Athens, TN

We are thrilled at the opportunity to plant another PCA church!  The Athens region shows great potential for spreading the Gospel in the rural community of McMinn County, Tennessee.  It happens to be the largest city in the Tennessee Valley without one of our churches, the 39th largest in the state.  It is home to a small university and has a vibrant downtown area.  We think this is a great fit for us, and we hope you will become a part of our prayer and financial support team!

As many of you know, God gave us a wonderful opportunity to plant Mercy PCA in 2008. We are so grateful for God‘s blessing in creating a solid congregation in Morgantown, bringing RUF to WVU in 2017, and all that He is doing through Mercy in this strategic town for West Virginia!  In the past few years the local PCA churches in the Tennessee Valley region set their sights on Athens, just as we were praying about our future, wondering if we were called to serve again in church planting.  Through the generosity of our support base, we began our new work here at the beginning of 2022.
