Hello friends,
Hey, I’m Amos. I’m married to the love of my life, Jessica Williams. We’ve been married since March 2013 and have two sons, Caleb and Christian. I grew up in the inner city of Decatur, AL. My father is a former member of the Nation of Islam and the Black Panthers. As a child, I watched my father develop in his faith journey. He eventually became a Baptist pastor and raised my sisters and me in a Christian home. I don’t remember a moment in my life when I did not know Jesus as Lord and Savior, but it wasn’t until college that I fully took ownership of my faith. As a college freshman, I experienced an identity crisis that caused me to question my faith. I explored several Black Religious Identity Cults *(BRICs) in search of dignity and community. The Lord saved me during this season of my life, and I entered gospel ministry. I have been walking imperfectly with Jesus since 2006.
I attended Alabama A&M University and Moody Bible Institute for my undergraduate studies. After college, I worked on staff at The Village Church and studied at Beeson Divinity School at Samford University, where I earned an M.Div. in 2020. In 2021, I was called as the Assistant Pastor at The Village Church, and in 2022, I accepted the call to plant Hope City Church. I am grateful for the opportunity to establish Hope City Church in Huntsville.
*Black Religious Identity Cults include black religious movements like The Nation of Islam, The Five Percenters, and The Moorish Science Temple.
