Leslie Johnson – Associate Director of MNA Refugee and Immigrant Ministry

After leading the ministry’s physical presence at General Assembly for several years, Leslie now serves as Associate Director for PCA Mission to North America’s Refugee and Immigrant Ministry.

She developed a deep understanding of cross-cultural issues from her own experience living overseas for more than 26 years, raising 3 children in several countries, and traveling to speak or work in 15 nations.

Leslie is eager to help PCA churches to welcome and assist refugees, immigrants, international students and others from the nations, so that they can successfully navigate and adjust to the culture of their new home country, and grow in relationship with the God who loves them and has brought them near  –  so that they might seek and find Him. (Acts 17:26, 27) Many recent arrivals are already believers, and Leslie will be encouraging our churches to recognize their unique spiritual insights and to collaborate with them for Christ’s kingdom.

She received her Master of Education from Covenant College and served as head of school of the Christian International School of Prague for over 11 years. She is a qualified administrator in the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) and the Cultural Intelligence Center’s assessments.

Her passion and skill for helping those in the PCA to expand their “cultural intelligence” (CQ) – the ability to relate, work, and share Christ effectively in our increasingly diverse communities – is a valuable resource for our denomination and the entire body of Christ.

She and her husband, Tom, a PCA Teaching Elder, writer, theologian and specialist in religious freedom issues, have been married for more than 45 years. They now live in Tennessee, and they have 3 grown children and five delightful grandchildren.
